Decorating is in my genes, I just know it. The pictures above are all from my mother’s store, Søstrene Mylius. (The name in english is The Sisters Mylius, and Mylius is the family name of some of our ancestors.) It is placed close to where I grew up, far out on the countryside. My mom is running the store with my aunt, and my grandmother is helping out too. What did I tell you, it’s in my genes!
Today is my mother’s birthday, and I just want to spend a little moment telling you all how I admire her. She quit her job five years ago to do what she loved the most, and for that I admire her so much. I know how hard it is to change direction in life and give up what you know for your passion. Starting with nothing more than a passion for decoration, they now have a wonderful shop with loyal customers. Don’t you just love the look of the place? These are really lovely photos and I strongly admire your mom too! I hope that one day, I too have the conviction and the confidence to start and run my own business. I’ve always really wanted to but I’m sorta scared. I know its the only way I’ll be happy and hopefully when the time comes I’ll have the courage to do it.
