After blogging for about a year, on an off, I have decided to take my blog one step further.
As you may know already, I am not very happy with my domain anymore. I think Mausumi is too personal, it means something to me, but not to anyone else. It is also difficult to spell (I see a lot of people who google me either writes the name wrong or is searching for something else and find me) and can easily be confused with a lot of other Masumi’s who I don’t want to be mixed up with.
As for now, I haven’t decided on a new domain name yet. I have a few thoughts, but nothing is final as for now. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! At this stage, anything helps, really.
The first step for me is to learn how to move my blog/change my URL. I have tried to google this, but all I find are comfusing articles that I don’t understand fully. If you think you can help, or maybe you know someone who can, please let me know. It would mean a lot to me if anyone would be able to helpe me with this.
I’ll tell you a lot more about the changes I’ll be making here in a little while so stay tuned. First I want to sort out this URL thing, and then I’ll be back with more.

Wordpress have a tutorial section to teach you how to move your website.
You’ll need to back everything up and follow the steps for wordpress. I’ve done it before but it’s kinda tricky and always get a bit confused lol
I just follow the instructions and it has worked but I’ve always had help.
Who is your host? They may be able to help.

Oh Marthe, it’s funny you post about this because I took a blogging break this week just so I could spend time figuring out how to move my blog URL and retain the feed reader (so as to not confuse subscribers) for the very same reason: privacy and feeling personal. I may have to consult you once you figure it out (lol). I am trying to change my site around especially because I don’t want employers and people from school to search for me. I don’t blog about anything overly personal but I’d like to keep this aspect of myself separate.

Good luck with moving your blog! I’d done it last summer but I had help from a friend (who is my host), so I might not be too helpful. But still, if you run into any problems, feel free to e-mail me and I’ll see if I can help. :)
