A little boy wants to become a firefighter. Your 13-year-old niece wants to be a pop star. And every blogger dreams of being a published writer (myself included).
I won’t talk about steering clear of everyone elses (and society’s) dreams here. (albeit that is a point too).
The thing is – dreaming doesn’t have to do anything about professions.
Dig deeper.
Five years from now – who do you want to be? How do you want to feel? Where do you want to be? How do you want to live?
If you’re clear about this, any profession, any road, can take you there.

So very true. It’s funny that as we get older, our dreams become so tied to our careers. I suppose that’s just what’s been ingrained in us for so long that it seems like the natural thing to consider our “dream”. Almost like it’s the easy way out. It’s easier and more accepted in general conversation if someone asks you about what your ideal future includes, you simply describe your ultimate career goals. I know I’m 100% guilty of that myself. It all comes back to confidence, really. Are you determined enough in your goals and dreams to give them your all no matter what other people think. I’m not. Not yet anyway. Hopefully someday. Until then, I keep my more “out there” dreams to myself, and if anyone asks, “I want to go into hospitality design”.
letting paper boats down the river… I grew up next to a river (Danube) and and that sight reminds me of my childhood days.
life is all about inner peace – I believe that that is the message of that photo.
