The only
You must cut
Through that silver chord
That binds you
And your soul
To pride
Control
And anger
You must walk alone
Unarmed
But never lonely
Through the mountains
Of sorrow
Shame
Hopelessness
And fear
You must swim
Ashore
In deep coral waters
But you will never drown
In loneliness
Despair
Or pain
For you are not
the only
Weary traveler
You are not the sole
Windswept island
You are not the single
flickering star
In me

beautiful! very beautiful… I love that you’re on facebook now as well… a lovely distraction every now and then during the day… thanks again for the lovely post on taking care of yourself in busy times… I was so busy this weekend and then I also tend to go on automatic pilot and forget to enjoy… so saturday morning i went for a little walk in the park close to my house, remembered to take my camera and was so happy i did.. it was relaxing and beautiful… i took some lovely pictures i’m very happy with… a fresh start of the day! so thanks for the reminder… and again, i truly love the stillness of this poem.. love caroline
