Oh, I so agree with you! :) I love road trips with my kids because I find myself being present and living in the moment with them. I love Sabbath by Wayne Muller too!! And I’ve got the travel bug already…..gotta wait for the weather to warm just a bit more!

Isn’t Sabbath such a beautiful book?

Hope the weather is warming up where you are every day now! <3

I live in a warm climate, Sedona Arizona and I struggle with wanderlust all the time. Being in a small town you begin to run out of new things. I love your list, it’s a great way to make the most of staying put. I think I will add to it weekend driving trips to nearby communities just for a change of scenery.

I hope you made it to one of your driving trips already, Pam! :)

I just stumbled onto your site today while blog surfing and have spent the last hour or so reading a few of your posts that stood out to me. I really love your blog. It’s so insightful and fresh, while being extremely inspiring.

I particularly appreciate this post, because this is how I often feel when summer is approaching. I just want to get up, pack my things and just go somewhere new. Last summer I went on my long awaited “Eurotrip” that I’ve been dreaming about for years and it was absolutely wonderful! I really would love to do that again, but maybe Southeast Asia this time, but of course it’s not always cut and dry as it seems. Stuff like this cost money and well, just the thought alone fuels my wanderlust.

But I never stop to think about all the stuff I have yet to see in my own hometown. And I live in NYC! I mean, most of the touristy places I’ve been to already maybe once or twice, but it’s crossed my mind that I could seek and visit more places that I just haven’t even heard of! This post and your previous post “How to travel when you’re not traveling” has really given my the motivation to travel my beloved city.

I’ve always wondered how it feels like to visit New York City. It must feel amazing, like when I visited London. And I often wished I didn’t grow up in NYC just so I could feel that. But maybe with these tips and a different outlook, I can sort of achieve that. Thank you for this!
