Marthe,

If I had to make a list of all the miracles that happen when I slow down to actually experience my life, this would cover 59 of the top 100 for sure. Amazing, thoughtful post. I’ll be re-infusing my summer with all of these! Thank you!

Hi! I really enjoyed reading this list. The list you created has a very positive vibe to it. I got a message from it, underlying everything, that I needed: be present. So thank you! : )

I just adore this! Thank you so much for sharing. My favourite involves a hot bath and clean sheets! Though I just love all of them. I’m going to create a list inspired by this and actually take action on it.

Such great ideas! And I fully agree with #2, I do this all the time with my dogs and there is something so calming about laying your head on your pet’s belly and feeling their warmth and listening to them breathe.

This made me very happy :) This is how I try to live my life. I try to never be “bored,” but instead think of something fun/new/interesting to experience. For example, I recently discovered the grave of a “Gypsy Queen” in the local Catholic cemetery where people leave coins, jewelry, and other trinkets :) And only just this afternoon, I spent about 45 minutes sitting in my front yard right on the grass, just listening to the wind in the trees :) But now I have even more ideas! Thanks! -Melinda

Over the years I have done so many of the things on this list and truely can say how great each one made me feel while doing them, but better yet, just reading over this list and reliving each one if only in my mind, has made me feel o great again! I think now that I am widowed and raising a young granddaughter her and I should do this list and possibly many more. Maybe invite some of the other grands to do with us. This should be great memories for all of us! Thanks for this list!

Thank you for sharing not only this inspiring list, but your own story, a part of you. I am definitely going to try many of these on this list and it has inspired me to make a list of my own as well. I think some of these are great to do alone, but many will be amazing way to reconnect with my husband ! Thinking we need to go away for the weekend and maybe pick ten of these and do them over the course of a special weekend away. Amazing ideas, and definitely need to start doing more things that make me feel alive today!

One of my most important daily practices is taking my dog, Lacy, on a Walkabout. I have dubbed this D.O.G. or Day Of Gratitude. Each day, I pick a trail or beach…during our journey, I express appreciate to my Higher Power…I also take photos of whatever happens to hit me on an emotional level…could be waves, the changing colors, clouds, snow on the ground or on the mountains around me. This has become the most grounding and positive part of my day, and my dog loves to explore off-leash. We often run into other people and their dogs…I find that I am much more outgoing whenever I do meet up with others. Since I have been in job search mode for nearly eight months, this daily practice gives me the strength and patience to continue, rather than giving up on myself. Blessings, Felicia

This is a nice list, but you have a lot of things on here that are most definitely *not* free…and a few that aren’t even cheap. Museums? In most major cities there are no free museums and they tend to cost upwards of $25 per person. Also, you, like so many others who write lists like this, tend to make the asumption that a person already has a stockpile of all the supplies they would need for the suggested activities…but paints and brushes cost money, so does sage, fishing poles and bait (not to mention a fishing licence), indian food, essiential oils, scented candles, nail polish, etc. I certainly don’t mean to be a downer about this, but those of us who are truly poor and trying to live a full and alive life often read these things and end up feeling bad about our poverty because we can’t afford to do half the things you suggest even though you claim they are all free, which is surely the opposite of your intention. (Finally, please stop taking pictures of the sun and encouraging others to do so – the aperature of your camera concentrates the UV rays [unless you are using the *super-expensive* lenses specially made for that purpose] and can cause severe damage to your eyes over time)

I am sorry you feel this way. I remember when I didn’t have two nickels to rub together. I also would have loved to read something so inspiring. Because I was so sad, down, and depressed. This would have made my day. I’m sorry you are in a situation. Try to be happy. It works.

Recording a message to my future self. I am SO going to do this. I’m 49 years old and back in college. I am embarking on my second career and think this is a great way to encourage myself and track my progress.

This is exactly what I needed! Today I cried, because I realized I wasn’t free nor alive. I’m trapped inside this house, inside the rules, inside myself. But your list make it so simple to set myself free! Easy, simple stuff like these, are the ones that can make you feel most alive! Thank you so, so much!

my most relaxing thing is to imagine your bed is a hammock on the beach and concentrate on feeling the bed slowly sway…
after a while it will actually feel like the bed is moving a little
