After blogging for about a year, on an off, I have decided to take my blog one step further.

As you may know already, I am not very happy with my domain anymore. I think Mausumi is too personal, it means something to me, but not to anyone else. It is also difficult to spell (I see a lot of people who google me either writes the name wrong or is searching for something else and find me) and can easily be confused with a lot of other Masumi’s who I don’t want to be mixed up with.

As for now, I haven’t decided on a new domain name yet. I have a few thoughts, but nothing is final as for now. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! At this stage, anything helps, really.

The first step for me is to learn how to move my blog/change my URL. I have tried to google this, but all I find are comfusing articles that I don’t understand fully. If you think you can help, or maybe you know someone who can, please let me know. It would mean a lot to me if anyone would be able to helpe me with this.

I’ll tell you a lot more about the changes I’ll be making here in a little while so stay tuned. First I want to sort out this URL thing, and then I’ll be back with more.

It’s grey and about to rain here in Oslo today, and it’s a bank holiday. I thought I’d spend the day dreaming about this summer! I have gathered inspiration from magazines and blogs, and I made my first polyvore. I’m not sure if I like the whole polyvore thing, but I’ve given it a go for now. I’ve put together my summer dream style. What do you think? Am I ready for long summer nights in the park?

ps. I have that satchel already. Which means there are only 10 items left on my wish list…

I’m so sorry I haven’t been much around the last month. As you can see from my previous post, I have been busy making some big decisions.

A little update for the interested: I got an unconditional offer to study photography at a school in England, but I have decided not to go. I have also landed three internships with the most prestigious law firms here in Oslo, and it have given me much-needed motivation to go on with my law studies. I am also going to be living in London over the summer, so I’ll get a lot of motivation from that too.

I feel like starting this blog over, and I’ll be working on that the next few days. If any of you fellow bloggers have any experience with moving blogs to new domains (or a sub-domain bought on bluehost) please give me a sign! :)

Thank you so much for waiting for me when I disappear, I find true inspiration in knowing that all my lovely readers will be there when I get back.

Decorating is in my genes, I just know it. The pictures above are all from my mother’s store, Søstrene Mylius. (The name in english is The Sisters Mylius, and Mylius is the family name of some of our ancestors.) It is placed close to where I grew up, far out on the countryside. My mom is running the store with my aunt, and my grandmother is helping out too. What did I tell you, it’s in my genes!

Today is my mother’s birthday, and I just want to spend a little moment telling you all how I admire her. She quit her job five years ago to do what she loved the most, and for that I admire her so much. I know how hard it is to change direction in life and give up what you know for your passion. Starting with nothing more than a passion for decoration, they now have a wonderful shop with loyal customers. Don’t you just love the look of the place? They are now thinking about starting a little café too!  To see more pictures, check out their website.

I’m sorry about the quality of the photos, they don’t really show the greatness of the items. I had so little battery on my iPhone when I took these!

As the last year is fading, I am also spending a few moments thinking about my life and how I want it to change in 2010. I just love the prospect of a fresh start!

One of the things I am going to do in 2010 is to spend more time developing this blog. I have a few things in mind, but I would love to hear what you think on the matter as well. Basically, I want to give more of myself here and do more of what I like most; write. The articles I have enjoyed the most to write here at this blog also seem the most popular. What do you think? Would you like more articles like 10 ways to make your work day lovely and How to live in the moment?

I know many of you are bloggers yourself. Can I get your honest advice? I’m considering changing the name of my blog to something more suitable and more in tune with the content here. That will also include changing my url. Do I risk to lose my readers? Or is it a good choice in the long run?
