How to turn Mindfulness, Magic & Manifesting to Awe and Amazement

I removed my shoes, took off my jacket and grabbed a magazine from the seat pocket.

I was on my flight number 21 so far this year, getting comfortable in my window seat.

New York – Oslo.

Direct.

They say "leaving New York, never easy" and for me it is particularly so. New York is my favorite place in the whole wide world.

(And if you know me, it comes as no surprise that Oslo is not.)

This time, however, I was in for a bit of a surprise that would change the way I look at the world around me, including Oslo.

Maybe even my whole life.

The night before, I had asked for a sign.

"Dear universe, higher power, spirits and angels. Give me a sign that you are real, give me something to believe in. Give me proof ."

And to make it clear that I meant business, I added

"Give it to me within 48 hours."

And then, for good measure

"Please."

After a quick read through Shambala Sun (and a few sleeping pills), I finally dozed off. And I didn't wake up until the pilot announced that we were approaching Oslo. My hometown.

I started to un-comfortablify myself. Seatback up, jacket back on.

Shoes on.

And then I got the sign.

In my shoe was two shiny coins. One Norwegian Krone ... and 25 cents.

To this day, I have absolutely no clue how these coins ended up in my shoe. Before I left Norway two weeks earlier, I had emptied out my wallet for all Norwegian currency. And before I left US soil, I had spent my last dollars on a bottle of water and the afforementioned magazine.

I took it as a sign.

The universe was listening.

Once I got my sign, I knew it was time to ask for something a little more specific. I thougth I'd go for something small, something that wouldn't be too hard, but who still couln't be written off as a coincidence.

I decided to ask for a free coffee.

The next morning, I was walking the four blocks between my house and a little cute coffee shop where I was meeting a group of girlfriends. And there, ON THE STREET, I was so shocked I lost my ability to piece words into a coherent sentence.

On the street, outside a training facility for canteen workers, was a girl handing out free coffee.

Please note that I have NEVER seen anyone hand out free coffee on the streets of Oslo before. Heck, I haven't seen anyone hand out free coffee on the street ANYWHERE.

I stuttered out a thank you and kept on walking.

With a smile so wide I swear I looked like a crazy person.

But my story doesn't stop here.

Later the same day, I met up with another friend – who also treated me to a free coffee.

Twice in one day.

After this, I am a believer.

Ask and you shall receive.

Naturally, I started asking for more.

I want a beach vacation.

Just days later my sister invited me to come to Spain with her and my nephew.

I want a new printer so I don't have to go in to my office every single time I want to print something.

Two days later I mentioned this to my sister and she offered me her old printer, since she had just upgraded hers.

I want a new Macbook Air...

Within a week, my mac died and I had to replace it.

Oooooops!

Careful what you wish for.

All this goes to show, that if you learn how to ask – and keep an open mind – you will be rewared beyond belief. All you need to do is figure out how to tap into the magnificent energy of the universe. And for that, I have a few tips for you.

How to start with magic and manifesting – to become a true believer of possibility

+ Ask for a sign

The most important key to manifesting is to believe. If you ask for something, but don't truly believe you will receive it – you are sending mixed messages. You have to be open to the fact that you will receive. That you are worthy of receiving. That it can and will happen.

+ Be specific

If you ask for something any time you will receive it ... any time. And if you ask for something within 48 hours, you will receive it within 48 hours. Be clear about what you want to see happen, and by what time.

+ Tap into your authentic energy

I don't believe in constant affirmations, vision boards and really, truly imagining and envisioning – if your energy is all frantic and desperate. Instead, tap into your true and authentic energy. Your inner wisdom, your inner power. Relax and trust that everything will unfold the way it is meant to unfold. You're not one affirmation short. After you have sent out your desire, there is nothing you need to do but stay connected to truth, love and possibility.

+ Search for unicorns and you'll see unicorns

In a world full of more information that you can consciously process, your experience is directly related to what information you are looking for. Look for coins on the street and you'll find coins on the street. If you're not looking for it, your mind won't feed you the information, only store it deep in your unconsicous. Look for pink feathers, elephants or people who care – and you will find that you are constantly surrouned by these things. You have been all along, you've just not realized before.

On the same note, if you are looking for rainy days, people who cut you off in traffic – and bad customer service, this is is what you'll see. The sunny days, nice drivers and wonderful retail assistants will be completely taken for granted.

+ Read The Secret and E Squared.

If you've been living under a rock and still haven't read or watched The Secret – now is the time. And if you are ready to get down to action – you've got to read E Sqared. I swear, these two books are all you need to get started on your own journey with manifesting. The Secret will show you what – and E Squared will show you how. Go get 'em!

Blessed aboundance and magical moments,
